Default Subversion build (attempt)

Result of metagame frustration and rainy days.

>>Necessary Subversion build<<

Normally I'm not a fan of necromancers, but with all the hub-ub over triple smite and SB/RI spike, it seems like they hold the only possible defense. This is, more or less, a preventitive pressure build. I hope the skills explain themselves.

Any and all feedback is appreciated.

Your Mesmer isn't really that powerful. Backfire isn't a great skill in GvG, and SS as an Elite on a Mesmer is sort of wasteful. If you're worried about SB/RI, Expel would do a lot of good, as well as a FC Convert. As for Backfire, drop it for Diversion, which can do a lot against both tripple smite and SB/RI.

I prefer Tigers Stance over Tigers Fury if having no cancel stance is what you're worried about. It also allows you to bring shock. I think you could get further with an adren spike duo then the sort of pressure frontline you have, but that's me.

I don't know if you could ever get away with 3 hex removals.

The mesmer looks weak, and I can't see why you would take rising bile on the tainted. 30 second recharge? Unreliable? I'd look at something like putrid instead, or maybe Consume Corpse if that guy runs into energy troubles. Then you could take something better then gylph of energy. All in all the death character has too many dead skills imo.

No hard res is unfortunate. I also don't know how well that few snares will fair you. Only two, and one's an adren skill on someone without a speed buff.

Anyway, that's at a glance. But I don't see much obvious defense against both trismite or SB/RI.

I orginally had diversion tbh. Backfire was intended to prevent spellcasting, as SS would prevent attacking. I was trying to be creative, but I'm not really a fan of backfire, either. That whole mesmer philosophy I got going there might have to change.

I would also, if not for the "Tiger's Stance ends if any of your attacks fail to hit" clause. I've actually tested out that sword build, and it is effective and manageable in a pressure role.

Unreliable perhaps, but it is the aoe damage potential that I wanted to exploit. With the hexes going around, it seemed that could only add to the niceness...
Min damage=4, max damage=960.

Ha - I don't like it either.

It seemed as though the more usual defense of mesmer hate and/or splittability wasn't getting it done. Necro hexes combined with hex and condition pressure against a team that cannot effectively split seemed like a possible solution, but until I can put this type of build into practice, I may never know.

Thank you both for feedback, it is being taken into serious consideration.

Long lasting hexes aren't the way to go, generally, unless they're spammable or covers. Things like Diversion are better because of the chance to 'catch' important skills. -140 damage can be healed with a single Orison or GoF; you can't really snatch back a 53 second Reversal though.
